A Western Star Bling for Wheels at Wanaka

When JJ from EBH (Exclusive Transport & Boat Haulage) brought his Western Star to the Truck Centre, we knew this was going to be a standout build. JJ had a clear vision: bring back the bold, classic Western Star look with a custom modern twist – and have it all ready in time for Wheels at Wanaka 2025.

So, over the course of six weeks, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work. From lighting and chrome to custom fabrication and signature gear, we transformed JJ’s rig into a head-turning machine that’s got serious “Pride in your ride” written all over it.

Here's what went into it:

Custom Heritage Western Star Bunk
We fitted a custom-made heritage bunk to bring that iconic old-school Western Star style back to life. This piece was specially built and installed in-house – a real centrepiece that sets the tone for the whole build.

Full Lighting Fit-Out
We lit JJ’s rig up from top to bottom, including:

• LED headlights for crisp visibility

• Amber flush mount lights

• Torpedo lights lining the cab and bunk

• LED round red lights out back

• Light-up aerials

• And more touches that make this truck glow both day and night

7-Inch Monster Exhaust System
To give it that bold, aggressive look (and sound), we fitted a 7” Monster exhaust system – an absolute beast of a setup that turns heads before you even see the chrome.

All the Chrome You Could Want
We kitted it out with:

• Stainless drop visor

• Grille surround

• Mirror arms

• Step plates

• Air cleaner trims

• Polished accents and more – all designed to shine on the highway

Silverback Armour Rear Smooth Stainless Guards
To finish it off right, we fitted a set of smooth rear stainless guards from Silverback Armour. Tough, sleek, and built to last – they add that final polish and protection out back.

JJ’s Western Star is now a rolling tribute to old-school class and modern custom magic. Built tough, styled smart, and finished just in time for Wheels at Wanaka 2025 – this rig is a perfect example of what we love doing here at the Truck Centre.
